Civil Wedding in Trebbin and the Fliederhof in Stücken, Brandenburg

If a civil wedding couldn't have been more personal. I was privileged to accompany N & H's wedding at the Trebbin registry office, followed by a reception at the Fliederhof in Stücken, right from the getting-ready stage. The bride was styled by the wonderful Ayca Kaya. As a surprise, the bride's father picked her up from her home in a carriage and drove her to the Trebbin registry office.

Why this wedding was so special: In Berlin, you're all too familiar with the way registry offices work their way through you every minute. I already knew that everything is more personal in Brandenburg, but this wedding at the Trebbin registry office was even more personal. The registrar had known the bride since childhood and had witnessed her life firsthand. I've truly never experienced such a loving and heartfelt speech, and I was so blessed to be there. It was intimate and emotional in the historic wedding hall at Trebbin Town Hall.

After the ceremony, there was a huge reception, and the town hall square was packed. As is tradition, the couple had to cut through a sheet with a heart on it and then saw through a tree trunk.

We then traveled by carriage towards the Fliederhof farm in Stücken, where we were able to take a few photos along the way before finally hopping into the car to visit other photo locations, such as Blankensee Castle and the beautiful paths along the Nieplitz River in Blankensee. The entire area around Blankensee was perfect for this. Our group was waiting for us at the location in Stücken, and everyone was able to enjoy the afternoon with delicious cake and ice cream before the lively evening began.
